137 Gin take home 4 awards at the World Gin Awards

Another proud moment in the Lumber’s Bartholomew 137 Distillery history.

The World Gin Awards select the very best gins in the internationally recognised gin styles and we’ve been recognised.

Anita Ujszaszi, awards director of the World Gin Awards, said: “We received a record-breaking number of entries, with more than 800 gins submitted, and the quality has been outstanding across the board”.

The World Gin Awards are run by Gin Magazine, an international publication covering gins from around the world.

Gin: Country Garden
Category: Contemporary Style Gin
Award: Silver
Tasting notes: “A sweet-spicy nose with nutmeg/mace, cassia and some orange citrus. On the palate it is warm and spicy, with pepper notes and well-incorporated juniper. A long, dry finish rounds it out. Nice intensity”

Gin: Navy Royal
Category: Navy Strength
Award: Bronze
Tasting notes:  “It smells clean, with a hint of pine and juniper. On the palate, there is an instant tingle and a pleasant oiliness, with notes of juniper, citrus and a slight bitterness. Overall, bright and quite classic in style.

Gin: Navy
Category: Navy Strength.
Award: Bronze
Tasting notes:  “The nose is bright, with a spicy note of gingerbread. There are tingly herbal notes on the palate, amplified by a tingle of alcohol, with cassia/cinnamon coming through mid-palate.

Gin: Berkshire Dry
Category: Classic Gin.
Award: Bronze
Tasting notes: “Nice juniper presence, and a very floral nose with roses and little bit of lavender. Coriander and anise are also present, and the palate offers a mix of sweet and bitter notes.
